This year’s theme for internet safety day is ‘Together for a Better Internet’.
The internet is an amazing place; by the end of 2019, four and a half billion (4,500,000,000) people were using the internet. That is nearly 6 out of every 10 people in the whole world.
If we all work together and we can make the internet a safer and a better internet, where everyone is empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.
What can we do?
We can help to create a better internet by being kind and respectful to others online, by being SMART, and by seeking out positive opportunities to create, engage and share online. We can to make the most of the internet’s potential to bring people together.
Everyone has a responsibility to make a positive difference online. We can all
promote the positivity by being kind and respectful to others and by seeking out
positive opportunities to create and connect. We can all respond to the negative by
reporting inappropriate content and behaviour online.
