Some pupils in all of our year groups need additional support with developing their social and emotional skills and confidence building.
We run Beehive sessions for specifically identified pupils with a variety of activities taking place inside and in our fabulous school grounds.
The specific activities carried out in these sessions is dependent on the current needs of the pupils in attendance. However, all sessions follow the principles of nurture:
  • Children’s learning is understood developmentally
  • Attunement, warmth and connection are key to children feeling safe and developing trusting relationships
  • The importance of nurture for the development of wellbeing
  • Children respond to being valued as individuals
  • Language is a vital means of communication
  • All behaviour is communication
  • Transitions are significant, and often challenging, in children’s lives
